While having a power meter will be a significant benefit when using a training plan through Stages Link, it is not required. A simple heart rate strap can be used to train using heart rate zones. Every workout will provide both heart rate and power zone targets for each interval and can be exported to include only heart rate targets for anyone who does not own or is not currently using a power meter.  Stages Link can also be used for tracking training in other sports using pace-based metrics, heart rate data, and other activity data uploaded to your Stages Link account.
